This book is an objective, multi-disciplinary and comprehensive study of the present-day Muslim World, perhaps the first of its kind undertaken anywhere in the world. The focus of the study is the Muslim World in the first quarter of the 21^st century but set in the broad historical perspective.

The prime objective of the book was to delineate the major problems facing the Muslim people of the World today and to suggest ways out of these. The Muslim World now consists of about 54/55 independent Muslim-majority countries, a number of occupied/unrecognised Muslim territories and a considerable number of Muslims living in the non-Muslim majority countries and a large number of non-Muslims living in the Muslim majority countries.
