A.J. Thomas is an acclaimed Indian poet, editor and translator, with more than twenty books to his name. A former editor of Indian Literature, the prestigious journal of the Sahitya Akademi, he has played a vital role in shaping contemporary literary discourse. He taught English at Benghazi University, Libya, for six years, and later served as a senior consultant at IGNOU. His recent works, The Greatest Malayalam Stories Ever Told and 100 Indian Stories, have garnered widespread attention from readers and critics alike. Recognized for his excellence in translation, he has received accolades such as the Katha Awards, the AKMG Prize and the Vodafone Crossword Book Award. He was named an honorary fellow by the Department of Culture, Government of South Korea, and his literary contributions have also been honoured with a senior fellowship from the Government of India.
