"Wetland Management and Valuation: The Sundarbans perspective for participatory forestry" Summary Of the Book:
The emergence of community-based forestry management is very common for forest policies in the developing world. Thus, the search for traditional forest bureaucracy of state monopoly and top-down approaches over wetland management need to be critically analyzed as they have become progressively ineffective to stop the depletion.
This book is a revised form of the Masters dissertation done in the University of Bradford, UK in 1999-2000. It is hoped that this book should provide serious students of development studies and other social sciences with basic ideas on contemporary issues of forest management.

Anjan Kumer Dev Roy

Anjan Kumer Dev Roy is currently working as Senior Assistant Chief of Planning Commission of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and a development practitioner. He hails from Khaliajuri of Netrakona. He obtained his MSc in 'Project Planning and Management from the University of Bradford, UK in 2000. He also obtained B. Com (Hons) and M. Com in Marketing from the University of Dhaka in 1991 and 1992 respectively. He received his high school and college education at Teligati B. N. H. K. Academy, Atpara, Netrakona and Ananda Mohan College, Mymensingh. He started his career as a lecturer of Marketing at Purbadhala Degree College, Netrakona and than joined the Civil Service of the Government in February 1998. He belongs to Bangladesh Civil Service (Economic) Cadre. He worked in the Ministry of Jute, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Economic Relations Division of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Food and Disaster Management. He has authored some journal articles and also has done several research works. He did many academic and professional trainings from home and abroad. To obtain these trainings he visited USA, UK, Denmark, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea.
