Commodore Mohammad Abdur Razzak, NUP, ndc, psc (Retd),

Mohammad Abdur Razzak is a retired Commodore of Bangladesh Navy. He joined the navy on December 1, 1981 and retired on April 2019. During his long naval career he had the privilege to work in both national and international capacities. Besides working in navy, he also worked as the Executive Director-Mongla Cement Factory, Chief Waste Management Officer-Dhaka North City Corporation, Director Research and Development in the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence, Military Observer under the United Nations Peace Keeping Department, National Consultant, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes and Secretary, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association. He is a supply chain professional. He worked in different capacities in managing navy’s supply chain. He drafted seven reference books on navy’s supply chain management. Besides pursuing the naval career, he studied geopolitics, an area of his passion. He has wide range of study on geopolitical and military affairs. He was Second Honorable mention winner in the International Navies Essay Contest 2000 for his article ‘Protecting Bangladesh’. His research paper ‘Managing the Edible Oil Market for Consumer Benefit in Bangladesh’ was adjudged third best research paper in the National Defence Course in 2012. He is a prolific writer with critical thinking and straight forward expression. His papers were published in national and international dailies and journals like the daily New Age, The Business Standards, the Prothom Alo English and the Daily Star. National and international journals are the Naval Review UK, the Proceedings USA, Headmark-journal of Australian Naval Institute, Mirpur Papers-Journal of Bangladesh Defence Services Command and Staff College, Journal of National Defence College, Bangladesh, Journal of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies and Journal of Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development. Author’s next book in the process of print is ‘Geopolitics of Terrorism in the Sands’. The third book under draft is ‘Clean Break’ which explains how Israel divided the Arab politics and erased Palestine from the map leaving a remnant in the rubble.
