The story is set between snowy Tetulia, a small Bangladeshi town that never saw snow in real life, and the busy city of Dhaka.
Shazia Tabassum boards a winter train to Tetulia after a fight with her parents, seeking a quiet escape from family drama. This is one of only three times in history Tetulia has seen snow, and Shazia longs for a snow-covered getaway to breathe.
In Tetulia, Shazia eventually meets Ishrak Syed, and though their first interactions are far from romantic, they slowly begin to orbit each other. Between snowy streets, late-night games, conversations about fears, vulnerabilities, and family, a bond forms. Ishrak, who usually avoids emotional intimacy, shares pieces of his past with her, something he hasn’t done with anyone in years. Shazia, in turn, shares her family struggles and lets him help her with legal issues by introducing her to his father, who happens to be a renowned lawyer.
Their connection deepens, spending moments staring at the mountains, evenings near fires, and staying up talking about life. It is clear to both of them that this isn’t just a vacation friendship. Shazia feels herself falling for Ishrak, even when she tries not to.
Once the end of the vacation knocks at the door, Shazia has to return to Dhaka. Life resumes, but now with new complexities. Ishrak is juggling work stress and a boss (Nowshin) who constantly undercuts his efforts by crediting Hamza, his peer, with his work. Despite giving everything to the job, Ishrak feels unseen, which gnaws at him.
Shazia’s family drama also resurfaces, but thanks to her sister Shahnaz and the legal work initiated with the help of Ishrak’s father, there’s progress. Slowly, Shazia’s family starts healing.
