Written In Blood Letter July Reports (Hardcover)

In the aftermath of the momentous July Uprising. Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) embarked on monumental nationwide initiative to document the lives and sacrifices of those who gave their all for justice and change. Beginning on August 21. BSS correspondents. stationed in Dhaka. divisional hubs and district offices, set out to gather the poignant stories from the frontlines of grief-speaking directly to the families of martyrs, their friends and co-fighters.

This effort was not simply an exercise in reporting facts. Our reporters sought to capture something far deeper-the spirit that propelled these individuals to rise in defiance. to commit with unwavering courage to a cause greater than themselves. Their stories are imbued with sorrow, rage, resilience and an unyielding sense of loss. Each narrative is a fragment of a national tragedy. each report a tribute written in the metaphorical blood of the fallen.

Over the past eleven months. BSS reporters have dedicated themselves to this task. balancing it with their regular duties. They have meticulously gathered memories. testimonies and reflections from across the country. To date. we have published 890 reports in both Bengali and English-depicting the lives and legacies of 450 martyrs. From these. 139 have been thoughtfully selected for this volume.

Yet, our work is far from complete. The commitment to preserving these stories remains resolute. BSS will continue its mission. documenting the voices of the uprising-one story, one name and one sacrifice-at a time. we hope such compilation would be published.
