"Born in Bengal"is a chronology of events from 1950 to 1970-the period that molded our desire and feeling in a movement for freedom. As the author himself says ""I was born and raised at the crossroads of Bangladesh history"" he has, as a conscientious son of the soil, has very closely witnessed the events and times he individually came across. And these are the stuff that have woven the fabric of our history. This is the tale of our growing self-awareness, our increasing patriotism, our heightening sense of self-sacrifice. With all this addition our movement for freedom ultimately culminated in a struggle for liberation. "Born in Bengal" being an intimate personal account of events I hope the esteemed reader would find it interesting to take an easy passage through the history of realizing our nationhood."
