This book was fist published in 2006 as a Textbook on the Code of Criminal Procedure. However, after the implementation of the long awaited separation of judiciary from the organs of the executive in November, 2007 in accordance with the land mark judgment of the Appellate Division in Masdar Hossain case back in 1999, there have been some overhauling changes in the Code of Criminal Procedure and also in the judicial system of the country. In line with the amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure done by the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act, 2009 (Act No. 32 of 2009) I have decided to publish this book not only as a text on the subject but also as a reference book containing both textual discussion and statute as amended up to date.
