The Prophet is the most well-known work of spiritual fiction of the twentieth century, and it is based on Kahlil Gibran's own experience as an immigrant. It is a source of inspiration for anybody who feels lost in a changing world. A group of people stop a prophet named Almustafa as he is ready to board a ship to return to his homeland after twelve years in exile. They urge him to impart his wisdom before he leaves. He does so in twenty-eight poetry essays, delivering profound and timeless insights on love, suffering, friendship, family, beauty, religion, joy, sadness, and death, among other topics.

The Prophet was an instant hit when it was first published in 1923, and it has since been translated into more than forty languages.

Kahlil Gibran

Kahlil Gibran (January 6, 1883 – April 10, 1931) was a Lebanese-American artist, poet, and writer of the New York Pen League. Gibran was born in the town of Bsharri in the Mount Lebanon Mutasarrifate, Ottoman Empire (north of modern-day Lebanon), to Khalil Gibran and Kamila Gibran (Rahmeh). As a young man Gibran immigrated with his family to the United States, where he studied art and began his literary career, writing in both English and Arabic. In the Arab world, Gibran is regarded as a literary and political rebel. His romantic style was at the heart of a renaissance in modern Arabic literature, especially prose poetry, breaking away from the classical school. In Lebanon, he is still celebrated as a literary hero.
