This textbook has been designed to meet the needs of B.Sc. Second Semester students of Zoology for the University of Jammu under the recommended National Education Policy 2020. This textbook comprehensively covers the paper Basics in Cell Biology. The theory part has been divided into four units, comprising of 13 chapters. The chapters of the text introduce the students with the structure and functions of cell organelles like mitochondria, Golgi apparatus and ribosomes. Also, cell division topic including the cell cycle, mitosis and meiosis has been aptly discussed. Practical part has been presented systematically to help students achieve sound conceptual understanding and learn experimental procedures.
