Sec.-1. Title, extent and commencement. - (1) This Act may be called the Civil Courts Act, 1887.
(2) It extends to Bangladesh except such portions thereof as for the time being are not subject to the ordinary civil jurisdiction of the High Court Division and (3) It shall come into force on the first day of July, 1887.
ধারা-১ঃ সংক্ষিপ্ত শিরোনাম, পরিধি ও প্রবর্তন।১) অত্র আইন দেওয়ানি আদালত আইন, ১৮৮৭ নামে অভিহিত হবে।
২) অত্র আইনটি বাংলাদেশের যে অংশ হাইকোর্ট বিভাগ-এর স্বাভাবিক এখতিয়ারাধীন, সে অংশ ব্যতিরেকে সমগ্র বাংলাদেশে প্রযোজ্য হবে।
৩) ১লা জুলাই, ১৮৮৭ ইং তারিখ থেকে অত্র আইনটি বলবৎ হবে।
