Phuleshwari had promised herself on a number of occasions- she would never come and stand next to the Dhaleshwari River again. During the last agitation, at this very spot, she had found the dead bodies of two students. Scorched by bullets, their bodies lay in a heap, as if they were two deer killed by hunters. Oh! And, were there more memories...
Leaving her house and brushing her teeth with the twig of a sara tree, Phuleshwari walked towards Dhaleshwari. Often she would tell herself, she would never go visiting the riverbank. Yet, her legs would invariably bring her to the same spot.
