The translator did a great job in capturing the tone and essence of the original. Unlike another Bengali translation I’ve read, where idioms were mistranslated and the natural flow lost, this rendition maintains the colloquial nature and accurate spellings of names and places. I don't think the commentators who commented so negatively have really read the original novel.
