আদর্শ হিন্দু হোটেল(হার্ডকভার)

আদর্শ হিন্দু হোটেল লিখেছেন বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বাংলা সাহিত্যের এক বিখ্যাত নাম। তাকে চেনেন না এমন লোক খুব কমই আছে। সত্যি বলতে কি, আমি অনেক দিন ধরেই তার লেখা বইগুলো পড়তে চাচ্ছিলাম। বিশেষ করে নবম/দশম শ্রেণীর পাঠ্যপুস্তকে "আম আতির ভেপু" পড়ার পরে। গল্পটি দারুণ লেগেছিল। তখন থেকেই আমি বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের লেখা বই পড়া শুরু করতে চেয়েছিলাম। আজ সেই আশা পূরণ হলো। ‘আদর্শ হিন্দু হোটেল’ আমার বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের পড়া প্রথম বই। বইটির ঘটনাটি ঘটে ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশে ব্রিটিশ রাজের সময়। বইটির প্রধান চরিত্র "হাজারী ঠাকুর", যিনি রানাঘাটে অবস্থিত একটি হোটেলের রাধুনী। তিনি একজন চমৎকার বাবুর্চি। সকল খতদের দ্বারা প্রশংসিত হলেও তিনি তার মালিক কাছ থেকে যথাযথ সম্মান পায় না। বিশেষ করে "পদ্ম ঝি" এর কাছ থেকে সে শুধু অপমানের পেয়েছে। পদ্ম ঝি তার সাথে ক্রীতদাসের মতো আচরণ করে, যখনই পারে তাকে অপমান/ছোট করে। হাজারী নিজের একটি হোটেল খুলতে চায়, যেখানে সে তার খোতদের সাথে ভালো ব্যবহার করবে, সেখানে তারা সদ্য রান্না করা খাবার উপভোগ করবেন, কোনো প্রকার বাসি খাবার খেতে দেওয়া হবে না। ৬ বছর এক হোটেলে কাজ করার পরেও তিনি তার প্রাপ্ত সম্মান পায় নেই। পরবর্তীতে কয়েকজন বিশেষ মানুষের সাহায্য পাবার পর সে তার স্বপ্নের হোটেল খুলতে সক্ষম হয়। তার স্বপ্ন আর স্বপ্ন থাকে না, বাস্তবতায় পরিণত হয়। বইটি সেই সময়ের জীবন-যাত্রাকে প্রতি ফলিত করে। সেই সময়ের হিন্দু সংস্কৃতিকে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছে। বইটি আমাদের সময়ের অনেক আগে লেখা হলেও মনে হয় যে গল্পটি এই যুগের জন্যই তৈরি। কঠোর পরিশ্রম এবং সততার মাধ্যমে স্বপ্ন পূরণ করার চেষ্টা করলে টা এক না একদিন পূরণ হবেই। এটি একটি কালজয়ী গল্প। চাকরিতে যতই খারাপ আচরণ করা হোক না কেন হাজারী কখনোই তার মনিবের বিরুদ্ধে যায় নেই। মনিবের দুঃসময়ে তাদের পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছে। গল্পটি বাবা-মেয়ের সম্পর্ক নিয়ে, একে অপরকে সাহায্য করার গল্প হলো এটি। গল্পটা আমার কাছে দারুণ লেগেছে। চরিত্রগুলো অসাধারণ ছিল। একটি চরিত্র আছে যাকে আমি খুব ঘৃণা করি, সেটি হল "পদ্ম ঝি", সে একটি জঘন্য চরিত্র, তবে শেষে কিছুটা রেদেম্পশন থাকেলও তার চরিত্র আমার কাছে খুবই খারাপ লেগেছে। হাজারী দুর্দান্ত চরিত্র ছিল এবং অন্যান্য চরিত্র যেমন "অতসী এবং কুসুম" ও ছিল অসাধারন। বইটি স্লো পেসড। স্লো পেসড এর বই হওয়া সত্ত্বেও এটি আপনাকে আকৃষ্ট করে রাখবে। শেষ পর্যন্ত, আমার মনে হয়েছিল যে আরও গল্প বলা যেত, আমার আরও কিছু পড়ার আকাঙ্ক্ষা ছিল, যদিও আমি যথেষ্ট সন্তুষ্ট। বইয়ের চরিত্র গুলো আশার আলো দেখায়। হাজার কষ্টের মাঝেও তারা নিজেদের ইচ্ছা পূরণ করতে পেরেছে। প্রায় এক শতাব্দী পুরনো হবার পরেও জেনো বইটি বর্তমানের কথাই বলে। সবাইকে পড়ার জন্যে সাজেস্ট করবো। বইটিকে 10 এর মধ্যে 10 রেটিং দিবো। __ English __ Adarsha Hindu Hotel written by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay is a famous name in Bengali literature. There are very few who don't know him. Honestly, I always wanted to read his works. Especially after reading "Aam Atir Bhepu" in the textbook of class 9-10. The story felt great, an amazing tale. Ever since then I wanted to start reading books by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. And "Adarsha Hindu Hotel" is my first book by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. The story takes place during the British Raj in the Indian subcontinent. The main character of the book is "Hajari Thakur", who is a chef in a hotel located in "Ranaghat". He is a wonderful cook and is praised by all the clients however he doesn't get the proper respect from his employer. Especially "Padma Jhee", who treats him like a slave, humiliating him whenever she can. "Hajari" always wanted to open a hotel by himself, where he will treat his clients well, where clients will enjoy freshly cooked food. He worked in the hotel for 6 years without getting the respect he deserved. After some events and help from some people, he was able to open his dream hotel. His dream was no longer a dream it has become a reality. The story depicts life from the said time period. Also, a sneak peeks into the Hindu culture of that time period. The book was written way before our time yet the story feels like it was made for this era. It's somewhat of a timeless tale of one trying to accomplish his dreams through hard work and honesty. Where no matter how badly he was treated at his job he never stopped supporting the employees. He stood beside them in their bad time. The story is also about the relationship between father and daughter, a story of helping each other. The story is a wholesome one. It also has elements of Karma in it. The story felt great to me. The characters were engaging. There is one character that I despise, it's "Padma Jhee", a horrible character however in the end there was a bit of redemption yet a horrible character. "Hajari" was a great character and so were other characters such as "Atoshi and Kusum". The book is a slow-paced one. Despite being a slow pace book it will keep you hooked. In the end, I felt like there could have been more story to be told, I had a craving for more, and yet I was satisfied. The characters give a sense of hope that despite all the trouble one can become successful if one truly dreams about something. Truly amazed by how good the book is and how realistic it still feels despite being nearly a century-old book. Will Highly recommend this book to everyone. will rate the book 10 out of 10.
